Destiny Function
Humans are at the center of the universe, and the Eastern philosophy of the Three Powers (San Cai) includes Heaven, Earth, and Humanity. Humans are considered the most complete product of nature and are the center of Heaven and Earth. With Heaven and Earth, and through the development and movement of these forces, humans are formed as a microcosm of the universe. Since humans are a product of nature, they are naturally subject to its influence, just as all living beings on Earth are affected by nature and the environment.
Each person is born at different times and locations on Earth. At that moment, the movement of celestial bodies on various orbits, particularly the strong influences of planets in the solar system like the Moon, Sun, Venus, Mars, Saturn, and cosmic rays, along with environmental factors, impact each person differently. This results in individuals being formed with unique characteristics. Modern science also indicates that people are influenced by biological cycles, such as intellectual, health, and psychological cycles. Thus, each person has a different starting point and life processes influenced by various cycles, which the ancients referred to as “Heavenly Destiny.”
However, human destiny is a composite function, meaning that in addition to “Heavenly Destiny,” people are also influenced by genetic inheritance, living environment, geographical location, and individual effort. Therefore, two people born at the same time can have different destinies.
In general, we can estimate human destiny through the function:
Destiny = Heavenly Destiny + Earthly Destiny + Human Effort
Where “Earthly Destiny” refers to the social environment and Feng Shui of the place of residence. “Human Effort” encompasses personal efforts in learning, training, working, and self-cultivation in life. While “Heavenly Destiny” is fixed, both “Earthly Destiny” and “Human Effort” can be modified, demonstrating the significant role of Feng Shui. Choosing a good Feng Shui home, office, bedroom, or desk orientation can have a substantial impact on improving one’s situation.
