FIVE ELEMENTS IN METAL, FIRE, WATER, EARTH, AND WOOD INTERACTIONS
When choosing a spouse based on their “Elemental Destiny,” which refers to the interactions of the Five Elements, sometimes one element may overcome another. This is not always bad; such interactions can sometimes lead to positive outcomes. Not every conflict between elements is detrimental.
WOOD ELEMENT:
- Binh Dia Wood (Wood on the ground) is most suitable as it is not affected by Metal (Metal overcomes Wood) and needs to harmonize to become a useful material (such as wood being processed into furniture like tables, chairs, etc.).
Other types of Wood, such as Tung Ba Wood (old pine trees), Duong Lieu Wood (willow trees), Tang Do Wood (mulberry trees), Thach Luu Wood (wood growing on rocks), and Dai Lam Wood (forest trees), are all affected by Metal. Combining them can lead to failure or a lifetime of hardship (retirement or death). Trees in forests (Dai Lam, Tung Ba), trees that grow in clusters (Thach Luu), or weak trees (Duong Lieu) are often cut down or cleared.
WATER ELEMENT:
- Dai Hai Water (sea water), Thien Ha Water (rainwater) are not affected by Earth, even though Earth overcomes Water (Water weakens Earth). Since Earth is not present in the sea or in the sky, combining them with Earth will lead to faster success. If they marry, they are likely to achieve great success and wealth.
In contrast, Truong Luu Water (long rivers), Giang Ha Water (large rivers), Tuyen Trung Water (spring water), and Dai Khe Water (creek water) are all affected by Earth. Water only benefits the land, leading to a life of struggle and poverty, as Water depletes the soil’s resources.
EARTH ELEMENT:
- Lo Bang Earth (earth along roads), Dai Trach Earth (swampy earth), and Sa Trung Earth (sand earth) are not affected by Wood. Wood does not grow on roads, sandbanks, or swamps. These three types of Earth do not conflict with Wood despite Wood overcoming Earth, meaning Earth loses Wood benefits. Conversely, they can lead to career success and advancement.
However, Thanh Dau Earth (earth on city walls), Bich Thuong Earth (earth on walls), and Oc Thuong Earth (earth on rooftops) are all affected by Wood, particularly by Tang Do Wood and Thach Luu Wood, which can feel like they are being buried. These three types of Earth are not affected by Binh Dia Wood, Dai Lam Wood, or Tung Ba Wood, but they are not durable due to their inherent conflicts.
